The WEIRD Secret to Clear Arteries

Most of us don’t think about our artery health until it’s too late.

You know… like when we’re riding in an ambulance after a heart attack, or when some doctor wants to give us a stent.

Fortunately, researchers have found a simple way to keep your arteries clear and your heart safe.

And this trick actually doesn’t start with your arteries or heart at all.

When your gut bacteria are out of whack, it’s a recipe for inflammation and serious diseases.

And that includes artery disease.

A recent study out of London looked at medical information from 617 sets of middle-aged female twins.

The women who had the lowest bacteria diversity in their guts had stiffer arteries. Simple as that.

Now, these women were twins with essentially the same genetics.

So we know it wasn’t bad genes causing stiff arteries – the problem was that they didn’t have enough good gut bacteria.

But here’s the good news…

By taking care of your gut health, you can avoid damage to your arteries – and a heart attack or stroke.

You can take several actions to promote a healthy gut environment:

  • Eat a sufficient amount of fiber from organic fruits and veggies (this fiber feeds healthy gut bacteria).
  • Opt for foods like fermented and pickled veggies, miso soup, tempeh, and sauerkraut, which have natural levels of good gut bacteria.
  • Supplement with pre- and probiotics which can be found at your local health food store.
