Swedish Breakthrough BLASTS High Blood Sugar
When Ronald’s doctor told him he was pre-diabetic, he was shocked.
There had been no signs, no symptoms to warn him that something was wrong.
Now, he’s locked in a battle to stave off a full-blown diabetes diagnosis.
Sound familiar? Blood sugar problems can come on FAST.
But Swedish researchers have just discovered a dead-simple way to keep your blood sugar in check.
And the best part? You don’t need to take a single prescription drug.
A medical team from The Lund University Diabetes Centre of Sweden has discovered a natural way to lower blood sugar and fight diabetes.
And it’s broccoli.
Well, broccoli sprouts, to be specific.
You see, these sprouts contain high levels of a chemical called sulforaphane.
And researchers have been drooling over sulforaphane’s potential for slashing high blood sugar.
This most recent study included 97 obese patients already diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
Every day for 12 weeks, the participants either took a sulforaphane powder extracted from broccoli sprouts or a placebo along with their usual medication.
At the end of the 12 weeks, the evidence was clear: those who had been given the sulforaphane supplement showed a significant drop in blood glucose levels.
The placebo group, on the other hand, showed no change at all.
Even better? The results were especially good for people with poorly managed diabetes.
In other words, sulforaphane worked best on the toughest cases of diabetes.
But, while the supplements can provide a more concentrated source of sulforaphane, eating broccoli sprouts more regularly is also a good idea.
Broccoli sprouts are delicious as a raw side dish, in a salad, or even inside a sandwich.
Be sure to eat organic as often as possible.
