Researchers from Germany have recently concluded that sound sleep improves your immune system by boosting your T cells.

You see, when your T cells sense a threat to your health, they activate sticky proteins – called integrin – that help them attach to and kill infected cells.

But when your integrin isn’t activated, your T cells are unable to destroy these disease-causing cells, which ultimately puts your health at risk.

And that’s EXACTLY what happens when you don’t get enough sleep.

For the study, the researchers compared T cells from healthy volunteers who either slept or stayed awake all night.

They found that the folks who slept well had T cells with higher levels of integrin activation than in the T cells of those who stayed awake.

So, the less sleep you get… the lower your integrin activation is in your T cells… and the MORE likely you are to develop an infection or disease.

Unfortunately, getting the sleep you need isn’t always easy.
